Osram launches their first direct green diode lasers

소형 프로젝터 시장에서 Green laser의 direct laser(Laser diode)가 가장 큰 관심사중의 하나입니다.

기존 LD시장의 큰 공급처인 일본 메이커들이 별다른 성과를 내지 못하는 와중에 LED 시장에서 힘을 키운 OSRAM의 개발로 projector도 탄력을 받을 수 있을 것 같습니다.

Osram announced that it now offers their first direct green diode lasers. They offer two version: the PL515 has an optical output of 30 mW with a wavelength of 510-530 nm. The PL520 offers 50 mW and 515-530 nm. Both feature a typical efficiency of 5-6% and the size is 3.8mm in diameter.Direct green lasers are crucial for compact and efficient laser pico projectors. This is great news for Microvision and other companies.
